Introduction

Fair Rigg Guest House is situated ten to fifteen minutes walk, or three to four minutes by taxi to the centre of Bowness where you will find an array of restaurants, bars and shops and of course the lake. There are a number of reliable taxi firms you can book, details of which we have available in our entrance hall or we will gladly organise one for you.

If you like to go further to explore the Lakes, Mountain Goat have a superb selection of half and full day tours, details of which we have available for you to book or again we will gladly do this for you.

Wheelchair hire is available at Bowness Bay Tourist Information Centre, this is free of charge, they just ask for a small deposit, we can do this in advance for you if desired.

Accommodation is only suitable for guests with mobility/visual or hearing impairment if accompanied, to ensure the safety of guests.

Although it is possible to access our ground floor bedroom in a wheelchair not so the bathroom so guests would have to be mobile enough to us the facilities.

About the guest house

Our car park takes one car per room and is on the level leading round to the main entrance. The entrance door measures 32” (81cm) wide and on the level, straight in to the entrance hall.

Leading off from the hall on the ground floor we have the dining room. The door leading into the dining room measures 31” (79cm) wide. We have separate tables for each room with good space between. The height of the tables measure 29” (74cm).

The staircase leads up from the main hall with five of the six bedrooms situated on two floors, one on the ground floor. There are seventeen steps leading up to the first floor, each step measuring 6 1⁄2” (17cm) deep and 39” (99cm) wide with a turn half way up. This leads onto a large first floor landing where two kingsize and one double are located. To reach the second floor there are sixteen further steps measuring 6 1⁄2” deep (17cm) and 32” (81cm) wide with a turning half way up leading onto a small landing where a double and twin are situated. All the way up the staircases is a good sturdy banister.

Bedrooms

Room 6 our ground floor bedroom is situated just off the entrance hall. It is of large proportions measuring 16’6” (5m) by 12’10” (3.9m). The door into the room measures 31” (79cm), the bed height is 23” (56cm), dressing table height is 29” (74cm) and the bedside tables are 24” (61cm). There is also a tub chair, bedroom chair and coffee table which measures 18” (46cm) high. There is also a good size wardrobe etc. The door into the en-suite measures 31” (79cm) wide and the actual room measures 4’10” (1.5m) by 8’ (2.4m). The en-suite consists of a standard size bath with side handles and over head shower, a sink measuring 31” (79cm) high and a toilet 14 1⁄2” (37cm) high.

Room 1 is a first floor king size bedroom measuring 13’ 3” (3.96m) by 14’ 1” (4.3m). The door leading into the bedroom measures 30” (76cm) wide, bed height 23” (56cm), bed side drawers 24” (61cm) high and dressing table 29” (74cm) high). There are also two tub chairs and a small table measuring 18” (46cm) high. There is also a good size wardrobe etc. The door into the en-suite measures 30” (76cm) wide. The en-suite measures 9’10” (3m) by 4’ 11” (1.5m). This consists of a standard bath with side handles and over head shower, a sink measuring 31” (79cm) high and a toilet 14 1⁄2” (37cm) high.

Room 2 is a first floor king size bedroom measuring 13’2” (4m) by 14’1” (4.3m). The door leading into the bedroom measures 30” (76cm) wide, bed height 23” (56cm), bedside drawers 24” (61cm) high and dressing table 31” (79cm) high. There is a tub chair, a wicker swivel chair and a coffee table measuring 18” (46cm) high. There is also a good size wardrobe etc. The door into the en-suite measures 29” (74cm) wide. The en-suite measures 5’3” (1.6m) by 6’1” (1.85m) and consists of standard bath with side handles and over head shower, a sink measuring 31” (79cm) high and a toilet measuring 14 1⁄2” (37cm) high.

Room 3 is a first floor double bedroom measuring 14’4” (4.3m) by 11’2” (3.4m). The door leading into the bedroom measures 30” (76cm) wide, bed height 23” (56cm), bedside drawers 26 1⁄2” (68cm) high and dressing table 30” (76cm) high. There is a tub chair, a wicker chair and a small table measuring 18” (46cm) high. There is also a good size wardrobe etc. The door into the en-suite measures 30” (76cm) wide. The en-suite measures 10’5” (3.2m) by 3’3 1⁄4” (1m) and consists of a shower cubicle, sink 32” (81cm) high and toilet 14” (36cm) high.

Room 4 is a second floor twin measuring 18’ (5.5m) by 11’2” (3.4). The door leading into the bedroom measures 28” (71cm) wide, two single beds each measuring 25” (64cm) high, bedside drawers 24 1⁄2” (62cm) high, dressing table 31” (79cm) high. There is a two seater sofa and a coffee table measuring 19” (48cm) high. There is also a good size wardrobe etc. The door into the en-suite measures 29” (74cm) wide. The bathroom measures 6’7” (2m) by 7’6” (2.3m) and consists of a standard bath with side handles and overhead shower, sink measuring 31” (79cm) high and a toilet measuring 14” (36cm) high.

Room 5 is a second floor double measuring 13’2” (4m) by 17’5” (5.3m). The door leading into the bedroom measures 28” (71cm), double bed 23 1⁄2” (60cm) high, bedside cabinets 24” (61cm) high, dressing table 30” (76cm) high. There is a two seater sofa and a coffee table measuring 18” (46cm) high. There is also a good size wardrobe etc. The door into the en-suite measures 29” (74cm) wide. The en-suite measures 4’3” (1.3m) by 7’2” (2.2m) and consists of shower cubicle, sink measuring 32” (80cm) high and toilet 18” (46cm).
