Obviously, at the moment we have no real idea when we will be allowed to re-open but please do feel free to book to stay with us from May 1st onwards, if it turns out that you can't stay with us due to Coronavirus then your deposit will be fully exchangeable for another stay or it can be refunded.
Fair Rigg is a beautiful period guest house in Bowness on Windermere. Richard and Christine provide high quality, comfortable and stylish accommodation. Relax and enjoy comfortable beds in well appointed, spacious rooms with Period features and all with large en-suite bathrooms. A warm welcome, fabulous rooms and great home-made breakfasts await you in the beautiful surroundings of The Lake District National Park.
At A Glance
Fair Rigg has 6 bedrooms, 3 King size, 2 double and 1 twin. All are designed for your comfort, they are light, fresh and clean with plenty of room to relax and unwind.
Each room is individually decorated and furnished in a carefully co-ordinated style. They all have with comfortable, good quality furniture i.e. leather tub chairs, leather sofas etc. Every room is equipped with a flat screen TV and DVD player, we also have a DVD library for your enjoyment. We also provide hairdryers, complementary tea and coffee trays, toiletries and much more. All of our King Size Rooms have Luxury Locally Made Toiletries.
Breakfast & Food
Our hearty breakfast provides an ideal start to your culinery day. For evening meals, there is a large number of pubs, bars and restaurants in Bowness which is just a short walk away. There are also pubs, each with their own car park, in near-by villages if you don’t want to go into Bowness, The Brown Horse at Winster is a very nice gastro-pub which stocks over 200 different Gins, The Wild Boar, just a mile and a half up the Kendal Road is excellent and there are a couple of fine dining establishments close-by as well, all in all pretty much every taste catered for.
Explore the area
The house, which retains many of its’ original features, is situated a short pleasant walk of approximately 15 mins from the centre of Bowness with its plethora of bars, restaurants and shops as well as the beautiful shore of Lake Windermere itself. It is close enough to enjoy the great facilities that Bowness offers but far enough away to avoid any noise and commotion.
